Frequently Asked Questions

The Product

What is Performa and what does it contain?

Performa is a premium electrolyte powder formulated specifically for marathon and endurance runners. Each serving delivers a precision blend of three key electrolytes: Sodium (as sodium chloride), Potassium (as potassium chloride), and Magnesium (as magnesium glycinate) designed to sustain performance, prevent cramping, and support recovery during long training runs and race day. The formula is sweetened with stevia leaf extract, contains no sucralose or aspartame, and is crafted to mix clean in water without the sugar crash of traditional sports drinks.

Why electrolytes instead of drinking more water?

Plain water replaces fluid volume but cannot replace the minerals you lose through sweat. During prolonged endurance activity; sodium, magnesium and potassium losses disrupt cellular fluid balance and muscle function which plain water alone cannot correct. Drinking only water without replenishing electrolytes can also increase the risk of hyponatremia, a condition of critically low blood sodium levels caused by excess fluid intake relative to sodium. Performa delivers the electrolyte balance your body actually needs, so every sip is doing more than water can alone.

What does each ingredient actually do?

Sodium (as sodium chloride) the primary electrolyte lost in sweat. Sodium is essential for maintaining blood plasma volume, regulating fluid balance, and preventing hyponatremia during prolonged running. Potassium (as potassium chloride) works in tandem with sodium to maintain cellular fluid balance, support nerve impulses, and drive muscle contractions. Potassium also helps counterbalance sodium to support healthy electrolyte equilibrium. Magnesium (as magnesium glycinate) involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions including energy production (ATP). Magnesium supports muscle function, may reduce post-exercise soreness and perceived exertion, and aids recovery between training sessions.

Is Performa a clean label electrolyte formula?

Yes. Performa is a clean label electrolyte solution, sweetened exclusively with stevia leaf extract. It contains no sucralose or aspartame and no artificial dyes. Please refer to the product label for the full ingredient list and allergen information, as formulations may be updated.

How to Use

When should I take Performa?

Performa is designed to be used around and in your training. We recommend mixing one serving 20-30 minutes before a long run or workout, during extended efforts to stay ahead of sweat losses, and immediately after to begin recovery and rehydration. It can also be used for daily hydration support particularly on hot days, during travel, or on high-mileage training weeks when your electrolyte demand is elevated.

How do I mix Performa?

Mix one scoop with 8-12oz of water, shake or stir until fully dissolved, and drink. You can adjust the concentration based on your personal taste preference and sweat rate. Heavier sweaters and runners in hot climates may prefer a more concentrated mix.

How much Performa should I take a day?

Electrolyte needs vary significantly by individual, activity level, body size, and climate. Performa is intended to supplement your electrolyte intake and should not be your sole source of electrolytes whole food sources remain important. (Please consult a medical professional for more questions on electrolyte intake) For most runners, 1-2 servings per day is appropriate during heavy training. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking prescription medications, or have any pre-existing medical conditions, please consult a healthcare professional before use.

Should I take Performa Daily?

Yes. Performa is formulated for daily hydration support and is intended for regular use as part of an active lifestyle. As with all dietary supplements, statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and Performa is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.

Performance and Recovery

How does Performa help during a marathon?

Maintaining electrolyte balance is critical during any effort lasting longer than 60-90 minutes. Sodium and potassium losses through sweat directly impair muscle contraction efficiency and increase cramping risk, two of the most common causes of late-race performance decline. Research supports that adequate hydration with sodium, potassium and magnesium during prolonged exercise aids endurance performance and supports thermoregulation. Performa is formulated with race day in mind.

Can Performa help with recovery?

Yes. Magnesium in particular may play a significant role in post-exercise recovery. Research has shown that magnesium supplementation may reduce muscle soreness, lower perceived exertion, and improve overall recovery quality, all directly relevant to runners managing high-mileage training blocks. Taking Performa immediately after a hard effort helps replenish what you lost and sets up a faster bounce-back before your next run.

Will Performa help with cramping?

Muscle cramps during endurance events are multifactorial, but electrolyte depletion, especially sodium and magnesium loss, is a well-established contributing factor. By keeping sodium, potassium, and magnesium levels topped up before and during long efforts, Performa supports normal muscle function and may reduce the likelihood and severity of cramping.

Order and Subscription

What is the difference between a one-time purchase vs subscribe and save?

A one-time purchase is $45 per bottle. Subscribe & Save locks in a discounted rate of $38 per bottle and ensure you never run out mid-training block. Subscribers also get early access to new flavors and product releases. You can pause, adjust, or cancel your subscription at any time.
